📜 Origins & Foundation
– The temple was built in 1161 CE by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva of the Eastern Ganga dynasty.
– It is dedicated to Lord Jagannath (a form of Vishnu/Krishna), along with his siblings Balabhadra and Subhadra.
– The idols are uniquely carved from Neem wood, replaced periodically in a ritual called Nabakalebara.
